DISPLAYING LIVE CORALS

Displaying live corals has always been a problem. Due to the fragile nature of the organism, you must use extreme caution when handling live corals. Never touch the fleshy portion, as this will cause the polyp to rupture, leading to the degeneration of the coral head. Also be sure not to allow the polyps from neighboring pieces touch one another.

Laying corals on a hard, flat surface will often damage the polyps. To provide better water circulation and viewing, a good idea would be to use different heights of PVC to show their true beauty. This also provides the best stability, and allows for more variety in the tank. Proper lighting is also critical to their health.
