JACKSON'S & OTHER OLD WORLD CHAMELEONS (High Caste, Graceful, Flapnecks, etc.) (continued) |
The CORRECT way to handle your chameleons is to gently encourage them to step onto your hand, and THEN remove them from their cage, allowing them to walk freely up your hand onto your arm or shoulder. When returning them to their cage, remember NOT to pick them off your arm by their stomach. Instead, encourage them to leave your hand by placing it close to the branch or area you want them to be. |
Remember that these animals do very well in cooler climates (50-78 degrees F). If you live in an area that drops below 50 degrees for any length of time, keep your chameleons indoors during these cooler periods. On the other hand, if you live where the temperature stays in the 90's for a while, we strongly advise against dealers or customers purchasing this kind of pet. -Thanks to California Zoological Supply |

SUGGESTED WATERING SYSTEM FOR CHAMELEONS
|
The small round under-gravel filter may be purchased, along with the other items mentioned, at your local pet store. The bubble pipe should be wrapped in a plastic aquarium plant (a vine type works best) and secured with rubber bands. This allows more noticeable water movement. |
